Oracle GoldenGate Tutorial 10- performing a zero downtime cross platform migration and 11g database upgrade

This note briefly describes the steps required to perform a cross platform database migration (AIX to Red Hat Linux) and also a database upgrade from 10g to 11g Release 2 which is attained with zero downtime using a combination of RMAN, Cross Platform TTS and GoldenGate to achieve the same.

Hi, Have you ever tested enabling GG on physical standby DB ? I am tempting to belive capture does not work with Physical standby due to LOB fetching which requires DB access with some conditions and also adding trandata and ... Any thoughts ?

There is an option to start replicat from certain commit sequence number.

Extract does not currently work from a physical standby. However there are plans I believe to enable this in the future but I have not got firm dates from the GG product development team
